PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY
Jeffrey A. Land is a fourth generation Memphian whose family came over from Ireland during the potato famine. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature from the University of South Florida, and studied Theology at Georgetown University. Jeff received his law degree from the University of Memphis School of Law in 1992, and since then, has been representing clients across the country and overseas.
Mr. Land is licensed to practice law in State and Federal Courts in Tennessee and Colorado. He is admitted to practice law in multiple Federal District Courts including AR, CO, MO, NY, CO and TN; the U.S. Court of Appeals, 5th, 6th and 8th Circuits; and the U.S. Supreme Court.
He has handled litigation in numerous Federal trial courts, including New York City, Denver, Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, Nashville and Memphis. He is a Member of the Colorado, Tennessee, Memphis and Federal Bar Associations. He has sat as Special Judge in Shelby County, Tennessee General Sessions Court, and is currently a Civil Service Commissioner for the City of Memphis. Mr. Land’s areas of practice are: Business and Contract law; Employment law; Construction law; Trademark and Copyright law; Probate law; Insurance law; and Personal Injury law.
Prior to going to law school, Mr. Land worked at the Memphis and Tampa, Florida Coca-Cola Bottling Companies. While in law school, he started and successfully ran a legal support business for attorneys. Helping business clients reduce risk, maintain a productive environment, and maximize profits through thoughtful planning has always been Mr. Land’s focus in his practice of law. In his spare time, Jeff enjoys camping, rock climbing, snow skiing and motorcycling.
